2.3.2 Page objects
The page objects are code blocks forming a complete page or parts of a page. The page objects may include references (or the full output) to one or more articles, a form or one or more comments left by site visitors.
An unlimited number of layout models may be applied to a page object. HTML may be used to format the way objects are displayed.
It is through the option management of page objects that backoffice users, with editorial authorisation, define the contents of each page object, their layout, in addition to the way they will be updated.
2.3.2.1 Editing page objects
The editing of page objects is made from the “Edit” option on the "Page objects" menu.
On the screen, those page objects existing in the system are listed.
The page objects are identified by a unique number (id) and by title.
In order to edit an object, simply click on the relevant title.
On top of the page object editing interface is a note area. In case other back office users have left notes, on the object being edited, these appear at the top of the page.
In addition to the note area, the object editing interface is divided into three main areas. At the top of the page, there is the object viewed in the visual formatting used for its availability on the website (preview). Further below, on the left-hand side of the screen, a form is available for inserting both the object title and the program. Finally, on the right-hand side is the note sending option, the hyperlink to the online manual, the layout reference list and article subject list to be used in the Object Program.
2.3.2.1.1 Insert note
As happens in the article editor, the insert note option allows us to send a message to all back office users who edit the object in question.
2.3.2.1.2 List of themes and layouts
The lists of themes and layouts ensures the programming of page objects is made easier.
The list of layouts allows us to identify the available visual models and where references can be established to articles from the object program box.
The list of subjects allows us to group articles according to article classification by journalist subject.
