2.3 The editor interface

The editor interface allows you to manage website articles, page objects, survey modules, as well as user data registered in the website.

2.3.1 Article management

Articles made by back office users need to be approved by a user with editorial authorisation before they can be viewed by site visitors. The articles to be approved are available for editing in the backoffice but are not available displayed to visitors.

And it is also up to a user with editorial authorisation to definitively eliminate back office articles.

In order to approve and delete articles, users with permission to carry out this function have available, in the back office article menu, a pull down menu which provides a listing of articles to be approved, as well as those articles to be deleted.

2.3.1.1 Article approval

In order to list articles to be approved it is necessary to select the option “To be approved” in the aforesaid pull down menu and press the “List” button.

The search options by title, author and theme, used in the journalist interface, may also be combined with the list option “To be approved” in order to filter the search results. For further information on search by title, author and theme, check section 3.2.1.

After having pressed the “List” button, a list of articles to be approved is displayed. The articles are identified by their number (id), title, author and creation date. Immediately after this information comes the phrase “To be approved…” stating which articles have not yet been approved by a user with editorial authorisation.

In order to select an article, simply press on the relevant title.

The approval of an article is made from the menu “Editor options” on the right-hand command bar of the article editor.

Select the option “Approved” in the pull down menu in order to approve the article. Then, click the button “Save” in the lower left corner of the interface so that the change is registered by the system.

The approved article will cease to be contained in the list of articles to be approved.

From this moment onwards, the article may be viewed from the website.

The already approved articles may have their approval removed at any time. To do this simply select the option “To be approved” in the pull down menu of the command bar of the article editor and save the article.

2.3.1.2 Article elimination

In order to list the articles to be eliminated, it is necessary to select the option “Remove” in the pull down menu located immediately below the list of options in the journalist interface, in the back office main menu and press the “List” articles options.

As happens in the article approval option, the search options by title, author and theme used in the journalist interface may also be combined with the list articles to delete option, to enable the search results to be filtered. For further information on search by title, author and theme, check section 3.2.1.

After pressing the “List” button, the list of articles to be eliminated will be displayed.

In order to delete an article you need only to select the option “Remove”. The article will be definitively eliminated from the system.

Attention: Only the articles “To be approved” can be removed from the system. If you intend to remove an approved article then you need to reverse its approval status, before removing it from the system.
